from our friends at Visual Arts in Rural Communities (VARC):

Catriona Gallagher is now 6 months into the ENTWINED residency and her studio is brimming with work that typifies her multidisciplinary approach.  She has amassed days worth of film footage from her one to one walks with people from the region – people who have a passion for the environment or manage the land in some way. Inspired by computer game graphics and digital landscapes, Catriona is painstakingly drawing a section of a tree plantation near Highgreen. In another corner of the studio are new written works and botanical inspired poetry. She is also sifting though a fantastic archive full of correspondence and photographs relating to trees planted at Highgreen dating back almost 100 years. One section refers to a ‘precocious’ Scots Pine. We look forward to seeing how all these threads come together at her end of residency work in progress show in April 2021.

There’s more about other artists in residence in the latest news update.
