Event Details

I will show some of my artwork from an ongoing project called ‘Tide’ exploring the rhythm and wonder of the tide.

This work poetically draws a link between tidal power, the ebb and flow of the waves and the moon and stars. Images of the moon are incorporated and folklore around the monthly names of each full moon is explored. Images are made above and below the water, revisiting the visible and revealing the hidden world beneath the surface of the waves.

This project is being created along the coastline of the British Isles, with a particular focus on the Dorset and North Somerset coastline. I am also making cyanotypes as part of this project, using seaweed and sea water as part of the process. For the online High Water event I would talk a bit about my project so far, with an emphasis on the Moon and tides. It would be informal, unscripted and I would share my screen to show some of my stills and a short 1 minute video.
