Event Details

As I am no longer living near to the sea, I would like to share relevant footage of a video a work I made in Clachan North Uist in 2014 – Land Radius – that was a 2-month long recording of a salt marsh capturing the ebb and flow of the tide and the livestock and wildlife frequenting the site. This work was accompanied by audio testimony of local residents including a ferryman describing how the phases of the moon and gravity impact the tides. This work shows the startling impact of the encroachment of water to life on land. As the tide recedes life returns.
