Event Details

I am an artist film-maker and live at Wembury and I visit the ocean most days to film or swim or paddle or just to recharge. I wonder what will happen to Wembury in my family’s lifetime, and to the rest of the coastline, if we do not do something about rising sea levels. I have just completed a 3 minute film called Sea Hydrangea. (Creation date 20 Feb 2021). Wembury is rich in hydrangeas and some of these colour changing plants hug a stream as it heads through the valley out to the sea. The word hydrangea has a greek root meaning ‘water’ – this film imagines a sea in which ‘normal’ water conditions no longer apply.

I will introduce and then play the film in its first screening.
