The Low Carbon Devon project is focused on supporting Devon-based enterprises to take action on climate change by shifting towards a low-carbon economy.

Join us at 10.00am on Thursday 10th December for an interactive workshop where you will meet the team, find out more and see how you can get involved.

We’re pleased to welcome Emily Reed, Devon Climate Emergency Project Manager at Devon County Council as our guest speaker. Emily will be setting the scene by introducing the Devon Carbon Plan, followed by an opportunity to discuss how we can support your enterprise with practical solutions through:

  • Access to free research and support from University of Plymouth academics, focusing on

          –  Green/living walls
          –  Power electronics (solar PV and retrofit LEDs)
         –  Creative industries
          –  Energy efficient building management and occupant behaviour studies.

  • A fully-funded innovative internship programme, placing current students or recent graduates in local organisations for up to three months to work on a low-carbon project.
  • Helping to shape our forthcoming series of events and workshops to share the latest knowledge, expertise and practical solutions to tackle climate change whilst bringing enterprises together to learn and share best-practice.

We are actively looking to collaborate and engage with enterprises in Devon to help you to develop a new product, process or service, or to engage people in the low-carbon agenda. Whether you are already working in the low-carbon economy or would like to know more about reducing your emissions, we want to explore how we can support you with practical solutions and put Devon at the forefront of positive change.

The Sustainability Hub: Low Carbon Devon project will provide an exciting new catalyst for low-carbon economic growth in Devon. Supported by an investment from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the £2.6m project, finishing in 2023, will support Devon-based organisations to access research, business support, and engage with the University of Plymouth around the low-carbon agenda.
