13:19:21 From Jane Eaton : Harriet and Rob. Do you know of The Arborealists and the Art and Ecology Project on Lady Park Wood. 13:20:44 From Fio Adamson : Where is Lady Park Wood? 13:22:14 From Emma Welton : What was that book, Richard? 13:22:28 From Camilla Nelson : Evolving the Forest was the book, I think 13:22:44 From Emma Welton : Thank you. 13:22:52 From Minou Polleros : Yes it was the Evolving the Forest Publication 13:23:35 From Paeony Lewis : You are doing amazing work. Have you ever had complaints about the canvases in the countryside, and if so, how did you respond? 13:23:42 From Camilla Nelson : What projects do you have in the pipeline for PLACE and how are you engaging with your communities as part of that? 13:24:31 From Camilla Nelson : Lovely, thanks so much Rob & Harriet! Xx 13:26:23 From Harriet & Rob somewhere nowhere : Love that - Chart of Invisibility! 13:28:55 From Jane Eaton : The book re Lady Park Wood is titled Art Meets Ecology (The Arborealists in Lady Park Wood). Published by Sansom and Company 13:30:53 From Richard Povall : thanks Jane. You can Google both books and easily find them. 13:31:36 From Harriet & Rob somewhere nowhere : Paeony - thanks for your question. The canvases through Sense of Here have all been very temporary - a few hours only - and no complaints. Other work that has been in place a bit longer has only once received complaints - in the case of a 110-metre line of cloth placed in Wasdale, 2016 as part of The Long View. The debate that arose was really interesting - how people perceive art, environment and issues of ownership and value. 13:31:55 From Fio Adamson : Lovely work Harriet and Bob. Exciting and inspiring. 13:33:20 From Camilla Nelson : Beautiful! 13:34:53 From Mary Waltham : Does the ‘height’ of each piece connote actual depth on-site for these geological site portraits I wonder/ 13:34:57 From Harriet & Rob somewhere nowhere : Camilla - we are at the stages of planning a conference/gathering in the autumn, partnering with Wye Valley AONB, and something next year with the Woodland Trust - two events with wide reach. More locally we’ll be working with Cumbrian farmers, ecologists etc, beginning with online conversations and working up to research projects and artist-residencies. Exciting times ahead! 13:35:10 From Camilla Nelson : I love this, Amanda 13:35:40 From Harriet & Rob somewhere nowhere : Beautiful work Amanda, love the maps, especially 13:36:09 From Fio Adamson : So interesting and creating such subtle but extraordinary work. 13:36:17 From juliepickard : Amanda, this is really interesting and wonderful paintings on plaster! 13:36:46 From juliepickard : Harriet & Rob, I’m sorry I missed your presentation. I’ll look at the replay when it’s available. 13:37:04 From Richard Povall : Replay should be available Monday 13:38:28 From Minou Polleros : Beautiful work Amanda, I am reminded of the Deep Time Walk App by Stephan Harding - who narrates into deep time by revealing what is happening deep underneath your feet along the coast :) 13:41:28 From Paeony Lewis : Amanda, just to say I adore your work (fits some of my obsessions - physical geography, mapping, seeing the unseen, etc.!). 13:41:39 From Jacqui Jones : Amanda, the barrows in the ‘Chart of Invisibility’ have disappeared due to what, farming quarrying? 13:41:45 From Camilla Nelson : How and why did you develop your method of painting onto plaster, Amanda? 13:43:15 From Amanda Wallwork : Experimentation - playing with materials 13:44:52 From Amanda Wallwork : barrows have been destroyed by farming - ploughed out because they were in the way 13:45:32 From Richard Povall : Fantastic that such a woodland can establish so quickly. 13:45:47 From Harriet & Rob somewhere nowhere : This is a wonderful story Carol, a dream, and a transformation. Love it 13:46:46 From Richard Povall : This is a lovely way to think of gesture - I don’t think its anthropomorphising at all 13:47:48 From Richard Povall : There’s photography and there’s photography… 13:49:00 From Richard Povall : Fabulous images 13:49:34 From Minou Polleros : A uni colleague of mine Axel Ewald is a teacher of Goethean Observation and he wrote a beautiful book : New Eyes for Plants - A Workbook for Plant Observation 13:51:56 From Minou Polleros : Carol, can you let us know where the Seed Extinction Rebellion Article can be found ? 13:52:06 From Harriet & Rob somewhere nowhere : This human colonisation of seeds and plants is so terrible, and that anyone can think of inserting a terminator gene is shocking 13:52:23 From Richard Povall : Broken-hearted seeds - what a lovely notion 13:52:39 From Harriet & Rob somewhere nowhere : as is the fact that so many people are unaware of what is happening. Your work is very touching and helps to tell this story 13:53:10 From Mary Waltham : Gorgeous photography of these beautiful plants. 13:54:56 From Richard Povall : Seed saving and sharing is probably of most invisible forms of activism and resistance 13:55:27 From Paeony Lewis : Beautiful. So poignant, Carol, and I love your passion (and of course, the glorious photographs). Am interested in gestures of plants - if I goggle 'Greta' will I find out more? 13:56:07 From Richard Povall : It’s Goethe, Paeony. You’re looking for Goethian Science 13:56:35 From Minou Polleros : Its Johann Wolfgang von Goethe - Plant Observation or the Morphology of the Plant - I think 13:56:46 From Richard Povall : Thanks Minou... 13:58:18 From Minou Polleros : Carol have you ever though of writing a book ? Or perhaps you have already written one ? 13:58:57 From Paeony Lewis : Thanks, Richard.
