Tom Ingate

,

Most of the work I do is practice-based research that has been presented at conferences or exhibitions. I have documented airborne seeds germinating in sterile soil. I have made music from apple trees. Built a cob and straw bale classroom for the Soil Culture forum. Photographed beaches covered by the 1967 Torrey Canyon oil spill, and a few hedges. More recent projects include using Instagram to encourage community curation of archive images and a participatory photography project called Document Cornwall. I am also a member of the Innovation in Rural Environments research group at Falmouth University and looking at using participatory methods to document rural communities.
