I would like to share a little bit about the story of HMS Terror, built in Topsham in 1813, a bit about the ocean science that I conducted on my expeditions to the Arctic/Antarctic, including a link to High Water marks in the Falklands in 1843, used now to measure sea level rise. I’ll also share some objects I’ve found from mudlarking at Topsham, which certainly aren’t from HMS Terror, but are part of the history of shipbuilding in the area (glass/bottles etc which are from 19th/early 20th century. Also about my Exeter City commission, ‘Shell’ which is about mussels and ocean acidification, and women in art and science and tides…
