Michèle Lazenby

Michèle Lazenby’s work is held in collections including the Wellcome Trust and Dow Jones. She has been a Senior Lecturer on the BA Hons Photography programme at Shefield Hallam University since 2008 .

Working primarily with photographic processes, she is interested in animal and plant behaviours, and the variations in character and form expressed within any given species.

Lumen printing references camera-less techniques from the early history of Photography. In this work, each unique silver gelatin print contains the image trace of plants, produced by a transfer of physical material (fluids, energy, cells) during a period of contact in sunlight.
