A rare opportunity to work in depth, reflecting on the different stories and narratives that emerge from the extraordinary landscape at Dartington Hall. Join sound artist Richard Povall and poet Fiona Benson on this residential experience that will allow you plenty of time to explore your own creative responses to this place – or to places of your imagination and memory. We are keeping numbers low to ensure you have plenty of time to share your work and ideas and thoughts in this non-competitive and transformational workshop.

The course runs from June 20-24, 2016 at Schumacher College.

You can be an artist or writer with many years’ experience, or you can be someone who loves the land and landscape with a creative urge but little previous experience. The nature of this short course allows anyone to benefit and to share ideas and knowledge.

Read about Fiona’s recently released collection ‘Bright Travellers’. Further posts will explore the course leaders in more depth.

We will also welcome renowned guest artist Garry Fabian Miller whose own profound explorations of landscape reverberate strongly here and on nearby Dartmoor, where he has lived for many years. Below, Garry talks about living on Dartmoor as a source of wonder and inspiration.
