First Fridays are our regular gathering for anyone interested in art and the world around us. It’s not just for artists – anyone can come and anyone can participate.
Since May 2020 we have been meeting online but the August 2021 First Friday marks the beginning of change. We won’t, for now, be reverting to the normal lunch-sharing gathering.
The First Friday on August 6, 2021 was a takeover by students on the MA Arts & Place course at the new Dartington Arts School which of course we are delighted to offer. The course is residency based and art.earth was invited to host a residency with three of the students. Facilitated by Richard Povall & Minou Polleros from art.earth with a basecamp at High Cross House on the Dartington estate. High Cross House is pictured above – it was one of the first International-style houses built in the UK, by the Swiss-American architect William Lescaze. It may have seen better days, but restoration is on the horizon.
Here is the video from the event.
