Join us on December 1st for this month’s First Friday – the last for 2017. We won’t be meeting in January, so this is your last chance to gather and share and natter until February.
As always, we gather at 1pm for a shared lunch – bring something to share. Around 2, we re-convene for our guest artist talk, this month by Fern Leigh Albert, a photographer based on Dartmoor working with medium format film.
She’s interested in people’s relationship to their local landscape, self sufficiency, low-impact living and nature connection. Her images are a celebration of the natural world and it’s importance in our lives. Fern lived off-grid for four and a half years in a simple hut in the woods on Dartmoor. She has produced a body of work about her experiences of this titled; ‘Wild Wood’. The project has been shortlisted for various photography awards and has been exhibited in group and solo shows internationally. She will be sharing these images from the project, talking about what she’s currently working on and displaying some handmade items to peruse.
First Friday are open to all.
