Join us on October 5 for First Friday AND a meet-the-artists reception (FREE and open to all)

As always, we gather at 1pm for a shared lunch – bring something to share. Around 2, we re-convene for our guest artist talk (with a slightly different format this month).

This month we’ll be meeting some of the artists involved in the current exhibition at the Garden Room Gallery (gardenroomgallery.com). KINdomstextiling with the more-than-human is curated by Patricia Brien and is an exploration of the mesh of plant, animal, mineral and human networks across time, place and material states. It is inspired by concepts around the ‘vibrancy of matter’ and draws on New Materialist, eco-feminist and eco-phenomenologist theories. Two or three of the artists involved in the exhibition will be on hand to talk about their work and invite discussion and conversation.

To find First Friday, head to Dartington Hall and park in the main car park (if you’re coming by bus it will deposit you near the main car park; if you’re coming by taxi ask them to drop you at Lower Close / Space).

Walk DOWN the hill and to the second turn on your right where there is a large banner that says SPACE. Walk to the end of that approach and enter the main building at Reception. Turn to your right and then head up the stairs to the Garden Room.
