Amongst other things, Perdita Phillips has conversations with rocks.
An artist/researcher/writer based in the southwest of Australia, she has long concerned herself with interactions between human and nonhuman worlds — and how humans might be remade by encountering the POV (point of view) of other beings. Working with walking, listening and mapping she brings together people and places. Phillips has a wide-ranging and experimental conceptual practice which draws from her art/science background. Whilst materially diverse, underlying themes of ecological processes and a commitment to a resensitisation to the physical environment, are apparent.
